2016 in Review

Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year. Well it’s that time of the year again when we wrap up the old, and look forward to the new. I find that Xmas is a GRRREAT time to reflect. I hope that 2016 has been good to you all, and that more good times lie ahead. So let’s take a look now at what’s in store for 2017.

A new offer from IICT. We are currently in discussions and negotiations with the International Institute of Complementary Therapy. I hope to have this tied up before Xmas so watch out for this in the next newsletter. This will benefit those doing social laughter clubs, as well as commercial work.

New website. The new Laughter Yoga Website has been one of the most drawn out, and frustrating, projects that I’ve had in many a year, but I can now confidently say that this is well underway with not only a new look and feel, but a new focus and direction for LYOZ in 2017.

Social Enterprise. The new way of doing business in the 21st century for organizations such as ours is as a Social Enterprise. Put simply, this is a “FOR PROFIT” business, that provides a percentage of the funds to give back to the community. I have a lawyer working on the details and will hopefully launch this concept with the new website.

More than $10k of work given out. Last year LYOZ gave away more that $10k worth of laughter gigs throughout Australia. My thanks to those who did GRRREAT work in keeping these customers satisfied. The feedback was first class and will drive even more business to us. I’m forecasting a doubling of paid work for 2017.

Dave Berman Training in March. Dave Berman from Daily Laughers will be visiting Australia for a series of 2 day trainings on his expert topic Laughnosis. I’ve read the book and am now waiting for the details of the training agenda. The first one is in Melbourne on the 2nd and 3rd March.

Conference next year in Sydney. The 2017 Conference and events will occur in October in Sydney. Exact dates will be secured by the end of this year, along with the venues. There has been an explosion in the number of new conferences occurring around the world, but ours is the longest sequential annual one.

My prediction for next year. The vision for LYOZ is to be a Social Enterprise, that provides laughter programs, to businesses and organizations, who are serious about the health of their people. There is a documented plan to describe “how” this will happen, and happen it will.
